Role
UI/UX Designer

Throughout my career as a digital designer, UI/UX has been a core part of my various roles. Listed below are snippets of these case studies, which include as many pieces of the UX design process as I have on file (some items retained by previous employers). More recent projects have been actively launched, while some past projects were conceptual in nature.

Grassroots Carbon

While working at Soilworks (joint venture equity fund of Scaleworks), Grassroots Carbon was developed after the acquisition & merging of two relevant businesses to create a leading solution in soil carbon storage credits. This initiative was to be launched at a sprint pace to prevent a lapse in customer satisfaction, as the acquired business already had enterprise customers like Shopify & Marathon Oil.

Efforts to work quickly entailed verbal workshopping of research, ideation, and sitemapping with the General Manager put in charge of the merger. This collaborative process provided me with an easy transition into wireframing and key stakeholder approval within 1.5 weeks. I was then able to design a full site prototype in Figma to be developed by an external agency, which we collaboratively adjusted on-the-go.

Amplified Ale Works

Amplified Ale Works was a brewery and restaurant in San Diego serving in-house craft beers and a delicious Mediterranean-fusion menu. Given their constant flow of customers wanting to drink & eat on their rooftop patio, I always felt like they could use a branding refresh to match their “electrified” approach to award-winning beer.

I decided to bring this opportunity into my graduate design program by creating a hypothetical rebrand as a school project and later presenting it to the restaurant’s management. This involved a complete redesign of the company’s logo, branding, and CPG beer labels, which allowed me to dive into the UI/UX steps of research, ideation, persona development, wireframing, and more to find an amplified interface & experience that customers could better latch onto. The end result was a vibrant and more D2C-oriented website to support their nationwide distribution efforts, while giving restaurant customers a new look & feel that better related to their brand theme. While the opportunity to pitch the restaurant team was initiated, the restaurant unfortunately closed down a few years later due to Covid-related constraints.
