As the husband of Major Isabella Ruiz – a Pharmacist for the U.S. Air Force – I’d been contracted to design a number of projects while stationed at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX. The 59th MDTS (Medical Diagnostics & Therapeutics Squadron) and the larger Group were looking to brand themselves within the base, and sought an experienced visual designer to help solidify their contributions for years to-come.

With limited instruction from the Lackland Public Relations team, I was able to design a Commander’s Coin representative of the local heritage, which was beautifully minted for individual recognition of excellent achievement (only 50 made). I also created two patches for the Squadron & Group level, both of which were physically printed in the form of a uniform patch and a “CGO of the Quarter” award.
